For the Women’s Resource Center, 2016 was a pivotal year for growth that included expanded programs and services, an increased number of beneficiaries, broadened internal capacity, and new partnerships and strengthened existing partnerships with the business community and mission-related nonprofits.

We are thrilled to report that Phanny is now managing her daily income and expenses and running a personal and business budget. Phanny said to us, “learning about saving, budgeting and how to track my income is really important for me as a small market seller.” Phanny learnt how to increase the value of her product and is now growing her own vegetables to sell at her stall, which has increased her profit margins!

One of the workshops the Women’s Resource Center (WRC) provides is the workshop we give at schools in local communities. We educate both girls and boys on topics such as Alcohol and Drug Awareness, Gender Equality & Equity and Domestic Violence as these are very current subjects in a life of a Cambodian.

Sharing knowledge about the female body is an important step in reducing gender discrimination. In 2018, WRC began a pilot project on Menstruation Health Management with five primary schools in Siem Reap.
